I dont really have a style. I live in hot AZ, and everyday I wear jeans and a tshirt, either solid colored or with a pocket, print, and sometimes a polo style shirt. Then I usually wear flip flops all summer, the same pair, and in the winter or when its a little chilly I wear socks and some slip on shoes (the ones i have now are white from Buckle) I feel my wardrobe is so drab. Im married, work from home, go to school, go to church, hang with friends, have date night with my husband and some friends, and I do some light volunteer work. So I dont HAVE to dress a certain way, but I still dont want to feel so drab and boring all the time. Any ideas for creating a personal style and making my wardrobe more fashionable? Thanks to all!
How can I learn to become more fashionable?
The best way to become more fashionable is to read fashion magazines.
also, you could visit a local department store or boutique and ask for advice, alot of the time they have an employe that can shop with you, and help you pick out more fashionable items that you can afford and that look good on you.
you seem to have a busy scheduel, so remember to dress appropriately for your lifestyle.
and remember, you can make any outfit the better by adding the slightest details. jewlery, hair accessories, shoes, bags.. they all make the outfit.
also, confidence is key. if you feel great, everyone will notice, and im sure you look great in whatever you wear.
Have fun.
Reply:get a teen book on how to sew or get some sewing lessons. it might sound old-fashioned to some but it totally isn%26#039;t. you can make the funkiest clothes or buy something totally plain and %26quot;funkifize%26quot; it according to your taste : )
you can also make purses and room decor and fun stuff like that! the best part: it%26#039;s what YOU made so it%26#039;s highly unlikely that anyone will have something like it.
How much more %26quot;you%26quot; can you get than that, eh?
Reply:read fashion magazines such as
seventeen
teen vogue
nylon
really helpful and seventeen is a good magazine that have cutoutfits for different body types and reasonable prices :D
always makeup tips for certain eyecolours and face shapes
Reply:Fashion magazines can give you a good idea of what%26#039;s %26quot;trendy%26quot;, but it can be expensive to change your whole wardrobe each season to catch up with the new styles. I%26#039;d recommend picking up some more staple pieces like nicely fitted jeans (dark denim is generally a lot more flattering and stylish than lighter denim) and khakis, neutral blazers or sweaters, etc. and then pairing them with fun, colourful prints or solids. The TLC show What Not to Wear is a great resource for how to combine basic, timeless elements with more expressive, modern ones -- definitely watch a few episodes! Also, visit some clothing stores and ask the associates for their knowledge on what%26#039;s new this season -- trends in fit (ie: wide leg or skinny pants), colours, accessories, etc. Keep in mind that updating your wardrobe can be a lot of fun, so make it an exciting challenge and not a grueling task!
Reply:Maybe try a little pizzaz, and get some creative and colorful colors, like lime green, pink, orange, magenta and turqoise! Jeans are very stylish, so keep that, maybe keep the tops, but buy some nice cute (cardigan%26#039;s the best) sweaters too! Flip-flops are nice, but what%26#039;s even cuter are the new mary-janes crocs! They are very nice! When you go to ANY clothing store, ask for assistance with your outfits, ask them if what they think is very in style now, they are always a good help! Good Luck!
Reply:your wordrobe sounds fine but if you want to improve watch for what people wear on tv and look thru some mags. to find what style youre shooting for. be orginal tho!
Reply:well since my granparents live in hot florida and ive been to arizona I really know what you mean... its hard to put a lot into your look because of the heat! the best way to get more stylish is to buy a bunch of fasion magazines (aka- vogue, instyle, allure harpers bazaar and so on) and get ideas for summery looks. write down the key peices you want to get and go shopping at what ever store you want. just go with it! whatever you would have worn when you were younger but dont really have now (of course it cant make you look like a stripper or something!) choose! take some risks! even start with some sexy undergarments and you will instantly feel stylish chick and sexier. even if no one but you and your husbend notices its a start!
hope I helped and good luck xoxo
